The backbone of
texas whiskey:
txwa associate members
Standard Cooperage - Blanco, Texas
Texas whiskey is built on craft, collaboration, and community, and that community extends far beyond the walls of our distilleries. While our distillers are the hands shaping every barrel and bottle, it’s our associate members who provide the essential tools, expertise, and platforms that allow the Texas Whiskey movement to thrive. From grain to glass, and all the storytelling, education, and celebration in between, these partners are the quiet force holding up the industry we all love.
MBS Seed - Krum, Texas
A bright example of a TXWA Associate Member leading that charge is Greg Standard of Standard Cooperage, whose Texas-based barrel operation has redefined what local craftsmanship can mean for distillers. As the first cooperage in Texas, Greg and his team have given our distilleries the opportunity to mature their spirits in barrels born of Texas oak and Texas labor, keeping the process as authentically local as the whiskey itself. Standard Cooperage is a symbol of what happens when innovation, tradition, and pride in place come together, and we’re proud to have Greg and his team as part of the Texas Whiskey family.
Whiskey Crusaders / Whiskey Castle - Hurst, Texas
Our associate members reach into every corner of the craft. Maverick Malt House and TexMalt keep our distillers rooted in Texas agriculture with premium malt sourced from right here in our state. MBS Seed and Whiskey Sisters support that same foundation, helping distilleries connect with the farmers and seed lines that keep local whiskey production strong. From materials to merchandise, Distillery Products ensures that every tasting glass, logo, and custom item tells the story of our brands with quality and care. TDSA keeps our teams trained, safe, and compliant, a true partner in protecting the craft from the ground up.
Maverick Malt House - Wildorado, Texas
Beyond production, our associate members help us tell the Texas whiskey story to the world. American Whiskey Magazine and the Whiskey Crusaders share our stories, reviews, and releases with audiences far and wide. Whiskey Marketing School helps distillers and enthusiasts alike better understand what’s in their glass and how to share it. Texas Whiskey Festival, co-founded by our very own board member, Jake Clements, celebrates all of us, bringing fans and makers together in one unforgettable space each year. Together, these partners embody the same pioneering spirit as the distillers they support — proving that Texas whiskey isn’t just made here; it’s built here.
